Via engaging, exciting hands-on learning, the FIRST LEGO League introduces science, technology, engineering, programming, teamwork, and math (STEM) to children ages 9-16 from grades 4-8. Through a driven, global robotics program, participants gain real-world problem-solving experience, assisting today’s students and teachers in building a better future together.
The 2021 FIRST Global Innovation Awards, presented by Star Wars: Force for Change, will honor real-life, creative ideas developed by FIRST LEGO League Challenge teams from around the world. The FIRST LEGO League invites elementary and middle school students to cooperate and build to solve a common problem.
The great thing about FIRST LEGO League is that all skill levels, technical and non-technical, are welcome and required. Students are guided by adult coaches as they develop skills and trust in a secure, welcoming atmosphere. FIRST® LEGO® League Challenge students can discuss the things that can be performed in various play spaces, as well as how to make sure that our games and activities are enjoyable and open to all learners.
Participants in the FIRST LEGO League Challenge will use their innate curiosity, logical thinking, and creativity to discover what potential play spaces will look like this season.
Students will use their STEM skills to engage in an Innovation Project to solve a real-world problem, create and program a LEGO® robot, and compete in an exciting, mission-based Robot Game.
